Everyone is different but when I receive chemotherapy, it's
pretty uneventful. I guess I should be thankful because many have a hard time
with nasty side effects. But for me it's the aftermath that brings all of the
pain and suffering. Many of you may not even know how chemo is administered. Before
all of this I hadn't a clue either. I mean, why would anyone if you haven't
been through it before or had anyone close to you go thorough it? The chemo I
am receiving is administered through an IV. It is a clear liquid that I am
getting twice daily. In addition to that they have a saline solution running
through my body to help flush my organs pretty much all day. So the machine I
am hooked up to has unfortunately become my new best friend. It will not be leaving
my side for another 3 days.
I am writing this update a day late because I was actually
able to keep myself occupied by “working from home” yesterday. Once the side
effects from the chemo kick in, I am going to be unable, so I’m trying to get
things in order before I have to take leave. I spoke with my amazing boss and
coworker yesterday, and they are going to do everything in their power to hold
my job for me as I recover. I couldn’t be more thankful for that! I just only
started the job back in July, and to know that they are willing to work with me
and accommodate me is incredible. God is good….even when we don’t understand….He
is good!
Braxton’s cousin sent me a link yesterday to listen to a guy
by the name of Dr. Charles Majors. He is a Stage IV cancer survivor, but one
who cured himself miraculously by changing things in his life that he believed
were causing his cancer. He lives by the idea that “cancer is not an accident,
it’s not bad luck, it’s not your genetics….you caused it” and that “the cause
is also the cure.” He wrote a book called “The Cancer Killers” and it’s his
testimony and proof that cancer can be prevented AND cured by alternative
treatments and creating a robust healthy body. In a way I was offended
listening to him when he said that anyone who is diagnosed with cancer has
caused it themselves. Not only are healthy adults diagnosed with cancer every day,
but so are sweet innocent children who haven’t even had enough time on this
earth to damage their bodies. And then there are the people who toxify their
bodies with drugs, alcohol, terrible diets, lack of exercise, etc who will
never face cancer. So I strongly hesitate to agree with him. I do, however believe that the body was created to work as a whole, and when it is working that way, everything will be functioning properly. I may or may not
decide to read his book. It may give me some hope and guidance on how to
prevent another relapse, but I rather walk by my faith and trust that God will
heal me, and keep me here on this earth to help inspire others and be a walking
testimony to God’s grace, mercy and healing!
Isaiah 53:5.
But he was wounded for our
transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of
our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
I love you all! Thank you for all of
the prayers and support!
That's right Sophia, God will heal you! U are already inspiring and testifying to his Goodness. Thank you so much for sharing your journey. Keeping you lifted up in prayer and praise. Your cousin Stacey
